Range Rover 3L - Cracked Manifolds Repair

Today we had this Range Rover 3.0L V8 Diesel for repair. The owner of this vehicle was having trouble with lack of power, and the engine management light being on.

The owner had previously taken the vehicle to another company, which had priced up the repair. Thankfully, the owner wanted to get a second opinion and brought the vehicle to us here at Safari Engineering, where we were able to quickly diagnose the problem as cracked inlet manifolds, which in turn caused the engine management light to be on, and offer to repair the vehicle for HALF the price of the other company.

The main sign of cracked Inlet Manifolds is lack of power (Vehicle going into limp mode).

To resolve the issues of this vehicle, we proceeded with the following process: We removed all six injectors, and associated items surrounding the inlet manifolds. We then removed the inlet manifolds for closer inspections and confirmed both were badly cracked and leaking. We then replaced both Inlet Manifolds with OE Inlet Manifolds and refitted all removed items, including the six injectors with new sealing washers. We refilled all fluid levels, checked for stored faults within the ECU and did a full reset. Next, we allowed the engine to run to operating temperature as well as carrying out a road test. After the road test we re-checked for faults. Thankfully none found and the engine management light was out. Once the vehicle had cooled, we checked that all the fluid levels were fine, then returned the vehicle to the customer.

Here at Safari Engineering we pride ourselves on being up front on costs, whilst ensuring we provide a top-quality service to all our customers.

Most vehicle parts are available within our parts department. However, when a part is not readily available, we will order this as soon as we can (usually for next day delivery).
