Freelander - Failed High Pressure Pump

Here is one of our latest vehicles within our workshop. 

This Freelander came to us as the owner had mentioned it failing to start.

Upon Inspecting the vehicle we were able to quickly diagnose the problem as a failing high pressure fuel pump.

High Pressure Fuel Pump

The fuel pump, as the name suggests, pumps fuel from the tank and through the fuel lines, providing a fuel flow to the engine.

Symptoms of a failing high pressure fuel pump are:

- Lack of acceleration

- Failure to start

- Engine Spluttering at high speed

After Diagnosing the problem, we were able to advise the customer of the problem, and inform them on the costs. We are honest and upfront with all of our customers to ensure a top quality service for everyone. The customer agreed that the fuel pump needed replacing, to which we were then able to repair the vehicle, so it was back on the road with a happy owner.

Most vehicle parts are available within our parts department. However, when a part is not readily available, we will order this as soon as we can (usually for next day delivery).
